🌿 Another Successful Treatment at Brisbane Zinia Massage
Today, I treated a 50-year-old female client who presented with knee pain. During the consultation, she also shared that she has high blood pressure and elevated blood glucose levels.
As part of the assessment, I performed a basic musculoskeletal screening. Her hip joint movement appeared normal, and gentle resistance testing did not suggest obvious weakness around the hip. Based on today’s assessment, the findings did not indicate that the hip was the primary source of her current knee discomfort. (With seven years of medical university education, I have developed a strong foundation in human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and musculoskeletal health.)
After a 60-minute remedial massage, the client reported feeling more comfortable, with reduced muscle tension and improved mobility.
As part of general health education, I discussed the importance of maintaining good nutrition and overall metabolic health. For some people, ensuring adequate intake of nutrients such as folate (folic acid), calcium, magnesium, Vitamin D3, and Vitamin K2 may help support normal bone health, muscle function, and healthy calcium metabolism.
I also explained that elevated homocysteine levels have been associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and blood vessel damage. In some people, homocysteine levels can be influenced by deficiencies of folate and certain B vitamins. Elevated homocysteine has also been linked in some studies to increased inflammation and may be associated with a higher risk of certain joint conditions, including osteoarthritis. However, homocysteine is only one of many factors involved in cardiovascular and joint health, and more research is ongoing.
At Brisbane Zinia Massage, I combine careful assessment, evidence-informed massage therapy, and practical health education to help clients better understand their bodies and support their long-term wellbeing.
